In the 9th century, Maruthapura Valli Kuthira Mukha, with a body that was warm with cholera and sweating, and later by a monk, by conducting a ritual through a channel, he came to the Keerimalai river, got blessings from the monk Nagular and received the grace of the Keerimalai head, and understood the importance of the place from the monk’s mouth. and the greatness of the sacred river. It is said that the cholera of the Maruthapuravalli disappeared and the horse’s face changed at the sacred river of Keerimalai.
